Malta Calls for Sustainable Tourism Growth and Better Island Connectivity

On 6 November, Malta’s Tourism Minister called for EU tourism policy to reflect island destinations’ needs, highlighting quality visitor experiences, sustainability and reliable air connectivity. Separately, the 2027 Budget proposes increasing the accommodation eco-contribution from €1.50 to €8 per night for hotels and €10 for short-let accommodation from January 2027.
